Jessica Claire Biel was born in Ely, Minnesota on March 3, 1982. Her family moved to Boulder, Colorado when she was very young. She grew up with her younger brother Justin in a Colorado suburb. Jessica is of German, French, English, and Native American (Choctaw) heritage. As a child, she initially pursued a career as a vocalist, performing in musical theater beginning at 9 years old. Jessica started doing plays at the age of nine with roles in The Sound of Music, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, and Anything Goes.

However, Jessica's rise to fame came initially in teen model print ads after being noticed at the IMTA (International Modeling & Talent Association) Convention in Los Angeles, California in 1994. This early success attracted plenty of hollywood agent types for the then 12 year old Jessica.

Jessica's film career began basically unnoticed at age 14 when she played alongside 'Peter Fonda' in his Golden Globe-winning performance in Ulee's Gold (1997). In this critically acclaimed film drama directed by Victor Nunez she plays character Casey Jackson. This was a huge break for the relatively unknown actress at the time. In 1998 she also seen opposite "Home Improvement" TV star Jonathan Taylor in "I'll Be Home for Christmas".

Her big break unquestionably came when she 14 years old through her stint as Mary Camden on the WB TV Series "7th Heaven" (1996-present). The series from Spelling Television and creator Brenda Hampton becomes a critically acclaimed family drama about a minister and his wife sharing love, laughter and life with their seven children. In real life Jessica is a year younger than hottie co-star Beverley Mitchell, but plays her big sister on the show. The show becomes a great success and gains popularity as one of the best new family shows. The first 2 seasons are now availible on DVD HERE. Jessica's popularity rose quickly in Hollywood and her fresh young teen innocence was quiclky exploited.

Although she gained considerable attention for her work on the show, she became increasingly frustrated with her role, blaming her saintly image for the loss of a leading role in American Beauty (1999) to Thora Birch. At this point Jessica is really unhappy and complains her character in the TV series was limiting her film career, despite a role in the acclaimed drama Ulee's Gold she begins to piss off the shows co-creator/writer Brenda Hampton and even TV mastermind Arron Spelling. Bear in mind Spelling producing since 1955 has had such hotties like Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowen, Tiffany Amber Theissen, Jennie Garth and Heather Locklear and many more on the payroll over the years.

Biel desperately attempts to get out of her contract essentially at all costs. When the producers refuse, Biel turned to Gear Magazine to change her image there she posed semi-nude (1999); instantly moving herself into the spotlight with a hot controversial eye candy layout in Gear magazine in which even her own television dad on "7th Heaven", Stephen Collins, has called 'child pornography'. Jessica's 18th birthday is about 3 months after her photo shoot with the Bob Guccione Jr. (aka Penthouse Magazine) backed magazine. The controversial cover and photo spread resulted in her leaving the television series by mutual consent. It's been said that certain execs at "7th Heaven" weren't happy with Jessica Biel's decision to leave the show in 1999, and since have decided to basically drag her character through the mud on and off screen. Of course Jessica isn't completely innocent in this mess as her on set tirades became more frequent and she was over heard arguing with Spelling himself. Spelling exclaiming at one point "I own you" to the young actress as the story goes. At this point she wasn't getting along with her co-stars either as they had surely had enough and Jessica is finally released by studio executives.

Jessica as part of her split with the studio apparently agreed to make some guest appearances on the show after the 1999 season. A dark side of the "Mary Camden" character suddenly appears as the ministers daughter turns into the good girl gone bad and the poster child on how to fuck up your life. Story lines had the Mary character skipping college and wanting to work and have a family instead. Heaven apparently forbids she get to choose her own destiny. The family/control freaks end up sending Mary to live in New York with a relative banish from polite society. Evidentially because of her insolence she soon meets new freinds/boyfreind that smoke pot and seduce Mary into a so called bad girl life style. The Mary character then gets married has a child and continues to live in New York. Apparently this is all a result of the show creators attempt to destroy Jessica's image undoubtedly spear headed by the show's writer Brenda Hampton.

Unfortunately, because of Jessica's bad press her film career did not take off as quickly, as she had hoped. Eventually admitting she regretted the entire Gear magazine stunt and counts the entire sexy debacle as a learning experience. She does however become a spokesmodel for L'Oreal cometics in 2002. After "7th Heaven" she accepts projects that only bolster her teen hottie image. She is thrust back into the spotlight appearing in summer love me films "Summer Catch" (2001) and "The Rules of Attraction" 2002) . Apparently "the rules" were getting shitfaced and hot orgy sex with the football team then marrying a US Senator. Although torched by the critics these projects open a few more doors for the young hollywood hottie. In 2003 the curvacious 21 year old appears in the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2003) where Jessie sports a traditional sexy tight white tank top romping through this classic nipple popping horror remake. The rumors that circulated early in Jessica's career that she suffered irrevocable damage for the mistakes of her youth were soon silenced.

In 2004, Biel stars in 3rd Blade movie "Blade : Trinity". The question still remained however, what the future holds for Biel's acting career and what the repercussions of her childish ranting and posing partially nude as a minor will have on her ability to score future roles in Hollywood. To add insult to injury her relationship with "7th Heaven" co-creator Brenda Hampton has completly disolved. The show will enter it's 10th season as Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman have taken the hottie spotlight on the TV series now.

Biel has been very busy in 2004-2005 wrapping production on several films working with big name actors including Cameron Crowe's "Elizabethtown" (2005), starring opposite Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst and Susan Sarandon. Biel will portray "Ellen", the girlfriend of Drew Baylor (Bloom) in the film that takes place during an outrageous memorial for a Southern patriarch, where an unexpected romance undoubtedly blooms. More recently she finished up work in one of film's first female jet-fighter pilots in Columbia/Sony Pictures new film, "Stealth" (2005) slated for release on July 29th, 2005. Also new film "London 2005" is in post-production she stars as character "London". Next year shell begin work on the film "The Illusionist" set to begin filming late in 2005 and slated for release to 2006 theaters. Jessica's career has catapulted to new levels since 2003 and her future will certianly be written with the success or failure of these new hollywood films.

With these new diverse roles it appears Jessica has finally shattered her good girl "Mary Camden" image despite the early problems in her career. She has desirable natural sex appeal and is a promising young actress that has legions of wanton fans who wait to see her in her future projects. In her spare time, the lovely vegan hottie is involved with charities such as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and PETA. Her hobbies include ballet, soccer, running, yoga and hiking with her dog "East". Jessica currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
