Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born
on April 15, 1990 in France until age five, and then moved
to Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. She was named after her
grandmother. Her parents both lawyers are
Jacqueline and Chris Watson. The couple had their 2nd child
a son, Alex
born in 1993, they divorced long brfore Emma became famous
. At
school, she took the lead role in several plays, starting
with 'Arthur: The Young Years' and 'The Happy Prince'. Along
with plays, Emma participated in many other school productions,
including the Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition, in which she
won first place for her year at age seven.
At age 10, Emma's Drama teacher encouraged
her to audition for the part of Hermione Granger in Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Emma says she auditioned
for it "on a whim". After countless auditions,
Emma eventually landed the part of the smart, school-obsessed
witch. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), was
Emma's debut into the world of professional acting. Competing
against many other girls for the role of Hermione Granger,
she didn't expect to get the part. But the bookworm smarty
won the role at the age of 10 years old.
Away
from the cinematic world, Emma enjoys playing hockey most
of all, and she also likes debating. Although her hair is
brown in the movie, she's naturally a blonde. She once dressed
up as a witch for Halloween, but she had no idea that years
later, she would be playing one in the Harry Potter movie.
Emma lives with her mother and younger brother Alex. Her
role models are Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, John Cleese
and Sandra Bullock.
When not acting, Emma loves spending
time with friends, shopping, and especially playing sports,
which includes Tennis, Hockey, Rounders, Netball, Table-Tennis,
and "a bad game of Golf". Emma currently lives
in Oxfordshire with her mother, Jacqueline, and younger
brother Alex.
Emma's ambitions go beyond the JK
Rowling, Harry Potter series. She has said that she wants
to play every type of character possible, and with her fantastic
performances in the Potter movies she's sure to get her
chance. So far she seems content to fill the harry poter
role and finish school sort of like a normal teenager.

QUOTES
"I would hate to have another actress in the role.
There is so much of me in her." ... "Of course,
JK Rowling wrote the character, but in film terms, I had
a part in creating her."
"I don't think any of this could get old, that was
sort of the question everyone asked on the red carpet when
I did the "Goblet of Fire" premiere," she
said. "I don't think you can ever get used to millions
and millions of, I don't know how many people there were
outside of that cinema. It's still new and exciting every
single time, and I think for me what keeps me really interested
is the fact we've had a new director every single time round."
"I'm not very academic, so I would have to say sports
or art, but if I had to say academic, it would probably
be English or History. What do I want to be when I grow
up? Absolutely no idea."
