Milena Markovna Kunis was born in
Kiev, USSR (Russia) in the summer of 1983. She grew up and
attended public school until she was 9 years old with her
4 years older brother Mike. Mila's parents were highly educated
people who received degrees in the former Soviet Union.
Her father, Mark, is a mechanical engineer. Elvira, her
mother, is a physics teacher and her brother Mike is a biochemist.
In 1989 Mila and her family emigrated to Los Angeles, California
in 1989 when she was 7. Young Mila learned to speak english
by Cwatching "The Price is Right" on morning TV.
When the family moved to the US Mila never had a can of
soda or a hamburger and compares the experience to the "Twilight
Zone". She was interested in acting, so at age 9 her
parents enrolled the youngster in acting classes at a prestigious
Studio. Then nine-year-old Mila signed up with the Beverly
Hills Studio where she met her manager Susan Curtis at an
after-school acting class.
While performing at the school, Mila
aged 12 was noticed by her manager, who signed her up after
the performance. Mila's track to stardom started quickly.
Shortly after getting noticed she appeared in a October
1994 "Baywatch" Episode called "Hot Stuff"
playing "Bonnie". Next Mila appears in a "Unhappily
Ever After" episode called "In the Stars"
as
Chloe. The next year "7th Heaven" as Ashley in
1997, and has had many more TV appearances. Which lead to
her first film "Molly Make a Wish" she portrays
an 11 year old girl in a smaller role. The next year, Mila
landed a role in 1995's "Santa
with Muscles" but didn't receive a great deal of
attention, mostly because this film starred Hulk Hogan (American
wrestler). Notably her role in the third, straight-to-video
flop in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids series "Honey
We Shrunk Ourselves" was her next project.
The movie that jump started her young
acting career was a made for HBO 1998 movie that Mila first
grabbed some critical praise. She portrayed the wanton young
Gia in HBO's "Gia".
'Adult Gia' was played by the at the time relatively unknown
hottie Angelina Jolie.
Inevitably, it was another TV role that would stabilize Miss Kunis as
a leader among young hollywood actors. In 1998 she lied
about her age when she auditioned for "That
70's Show" she said she was 18 when she was only
15. Mila auditioned for a role on the then-titled "Teenage
Wasteland" and she landed the role easily. The series
was set to production late in 1998. The new show later to
be renamed "That 70's Show." The writing and new
talented cast of actors helped make the series a great success.
Kunis is the youngest actor on the show, but the chemistry
among the actors is remarkable.
In 1999 Mila added another FOX TV
show to her resume in the Family Guy" as the voice
of Megan Griffin the daughter in a dysfuntional cartoon
family living in Quahaug, Rhode Island. Featuring a more
disturbed script than the Simpsons the series ended in 2002
but was resurrected in 2004.
During this time Miss Kunis's popularity
soars and since her role on "That 70s Show" she
has had a string of films over the last few years. On the
big screen, Mila lands a supporting role in the film "Get
Over It" with Kirstin Dunst in 2001. Also this
year Mila graduates from Fairfax Senior High School in June
2001. In Maxim and later "Stuff" magazines she
poses for a hot sexy centerfold issue (SEEN
HERE) sporting an Aerosmith t-shirt and motorcycle.
In real life she is a huge fan of the 70's hard rock/metal
vintage band. Mila also loves to listen to Shania Twain,
Ricky Martin, Goo Goo Dolls, Blink 182, Limp Bizkit, Kid
Rock and classic rockers Aerosmith.
Mila in 2002 (at 19 years old)
starred in the sequel to American Psycho, American
Psycho II. As the insanely beautiful and incredibly disturbed
college student / FBI agent wanna be "Rachael
Newman".
The film wasn't exactly a block buster but her performance
was impressive for the sexy young actress. Later in
2002 she begins dating kid
star Macaulay Culkin late in 2002. Well nobody's perfect.
In 2004 Mila appears on "Late
Night with Conan O'Brien" during her interview she is
terrified by the "Bug Man" guest on the show and
runs offstage in a wild panic in the May 2004 guest appearance.
In October 2004 she is also seen on national television during "World
Series" game at a Red Sox home game with friends at Fenway.
Later that year "The Family Guy" the Movie announced.
In
2005 Stuff Magazine December issue features a sexy young Mila in a hot new photoshoot. In this recent Stuff interview Mila confesses she's really
a tomboy and doesn't want to be famous. She says she loves
the hours but admits that she doesn't do this work because
she wants to become famous. Basically saying "No really,
I really am the innocent girl next door type. But nobody
believes me." We believe you Mila you can bet on it. Early in 2005 Mila Kunis completed work on 2 films
"Moving McAllister" and
"Tom 51". She also completed work on film "Tony
'n' Tina's Wedding" still not availible on DVD.
That 70's Show ended in 2006, the remaining cast members say their goodbyes after 6 years. Mila is still working on the "Family
Guy". She will definately reach a crossroads in her career in the next few years.
Her sex
symbol status has to push her over the top as a hot commodity actress.
Moreover she'll need to have that breakout role to make the jump from teeny TV actress to more mainstream films. Mila just completed the hot new indy type film "After
Sex " (2006) playing a hot lesbian lover named Nikki. Her love interrest is the lovely dominican honey Zoe Saldana (aka Curse of the Black Pearl) pirate captian chick.
This film features an edgy relationship comedy that uses
sex as a background to examine intimacy and vulnerability.
This title is now on DVD !
In 2008 Mila completed work on the film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008). Mila get a starring role in "Boot Camp" (2007) as a group of at-risk teens are sent to a what they think is a rehabilitation program on Fiji, but is really a prison-like camp where kids are abused and brainwashed. The film is yet to be released. Yet another of Mila's many projects on the straight to DVD list. She does have a small role in the recently released Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
