Mackenzie Rosman made her television debut as a series regular on 7th Heaven. Born in South Carolina, Her parents were soon after divorced after arriving in California. Now she lives with her mother, step-dad, younger brother Chandler and older step-sister Katelyn in Los Angeles.
Mackenzie moved to Los Angeles with her family when she was 4. Encouraged by a friend, her mother signed her up with a talent agency and she landed her very first commercial audition.
Mackenzie also enjoys reading, dancing, biking, skating, swimming, skiing and horseback riding. She resides in Los Angeles, Calif. with her family and a house full of animals. She is actively involved in raising funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mackenzie's stepsister, Katelyn, lives with CF, and in 2005, Katelyn underwent a successful double lung-transplant.
Mackenzie began her acting career by appearing in a number of national television commercials for products such as Hormel Chili and Tuffs Diapers. Mackenzie also appeared in a number of other national television commercials for products such as Dogs and Nike.
When she auditioned for her breakout role as the youngest child, Ruthie, in "7th
Heaven" at the age of 5, Mackenzie impressed producer Aaron Spelling and others by walking up to each individual in the room, shaking hands and introducing herself. In addition to her role on the drama series, Mackenzie appeared in the independent film Gideon's Webb, starring Christopher Lambert, Charlton Heston and Shelley Winters.
During her 10 seasons with "7th
Heaven" she manages to balance school with acting by doing her homework on set in between scenes. She loves all animals, especially horses, and spends as much spare time as she can at the stables. She owns 8 horses they live in the backyard of her family home in California. The house is full of pets. She loves her animals and says she rides 4 times a week, as she clearly enjoys the sensation of riding intensely. Of course she also competes with her horses in equestrian competitions. In fact, she often donates her spare time to various charity events involving animals.
Growing up as the youngest girl Ruthie Camden, as a TV child actor was pretty routine. While growing up she actually manages to remain a normal teeanger in fact. Despite being a semi famous TV actor, she enjoys all her highschool friends and even attends prom. Along the way she developed her acting skills over 10 years on "7th
Heaven". The question still remains however whether she can take her career to the next level. By 2007 we should see her in other more mature projects besides the annoying little tattle-tale camden sister.
She will finish filming the final episodes of "7th Heaven"'s 10th and final Season at least for Mackenzie. She opted out of her contract to return for an 11th Season of 7th Heaven on the WB network. Apparently she will try for other more meaningful acting pursuits.
This will certianly not come easy as she hasn't been in anything meaningful besides "7th
Heaven" since her acting career began. She will definately have to become more of a young hollywood hottie indy type roles to see any serious movie interrest. See possible Maxim / FHM hottie cover girl in her near future. Which will be quickly followed by a sexy and revealing young girl drug/drama type movie character.

Mackenzie's family of five includes her Mom, Donna, her step-dad, Randy, her brother Chandler, and her stepsister, Katelyn. Also included in the mix is a menagerie of cats and dogs, chickens, horses and goats.
MacKenzie's step-sister, Katelyn Salmont, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, guest-starred as Mackenzie's friend in the 7th Heaven episode "Back in the Saddle Again"
Her family has Cherokee Indian roots.

"7th Heaven" had produced a special episode about Cystic Fibrosis entitled "Back in the Saddle" which featured Katelyn as herself, and Mackenzie and Katelyn rode horses together, as they do at home. In 2005, "7th Heaven" again brought Katelyn on the show, post-transplant, which gave her a chance to explain about the new life she had been given.
